This course will introduce the precepts of working in a law office and the roles of its members: lawyer, paralegal, legal secretary, actuary, accountant, office manager, process server.  Additionally, students will learn how to identify various basic civil documents and their uses, examine filing systems, notification systems, and billing systems. Filing requirements and the organization of the court registry will also be covered. Students will trace the flow of legal documents in a typical civil action, draft a sample statement of claim, and complete an exercise in judicial reasoning.
